Around Ealing Magazine

‘Around Ealing’ is the resident’s magazine for The London Borough of Ealing. Printout manages its production from artwork to delivery.  It is produced quarterly and has a circulation of 133,000, and typically contains 48 to 64 pages. It has won awards for it’s innovative, easy to read design. Resident’s surveys suggest that Ealing’s residents value the magazine not only for its many interesting articles but also use it as a source of information, for example for refuse collection, what’s on etc.  This makes it a great place to advertise in.

MIPIM Case Study

MIPIM is an annual conference which takes place in France and is a showcase for local councils from across Europe to promote their area to attract regeneration/development projects. Ealing Council attended MIPIM in 2014 and tasked us with a brief to create a ‘Bold and forthright marketing approach’ centred on the imminent arrival of the Crossrail link.

We created a display stand to represent a stylised modern train interior, with each of the train’s side ‘windows’ showing pictures of developments in the borough. A large LCD screen was placed in the centre of the stand and represented the view out through the driver’s window.  We commissioned and produced a video for the LCD screen which was a fast paced, dynamic film which used appropriate combinations of: panning, shifts in focus, ‘Dutch tilts’, rapid zooms, aerial shots of development sites etc.  The video was also configured for use on smaller screens and tablets.
